• What is an Integrated NIC Card?

An integrated NIC (Network Interface Card) is a high speed input/output electronic communication device manufactured directly on to a host computing device.
Often NIC cards are "integrated" onto a computer's main or motherboard. The practice of integrating NIC cards has some pros and cons. Some benefits of NIC card integration are reduced costs, reduced space and more main board expansion ability for non-integrated devices. Some disadvantages to NIC card integration may be reduced features and reduced performance and the inability for future upgrades.
